Florence Inspiration

I just came back from a week long trip to Florence Italy. As a native of Los Angles, I am always amazed to travel to the old world and experience the depth of history there. This trip specifically I was inspired by the ceramic vessels and paintings that I saw in museums and by the wines and food I enjoyed.

Strange Vessel

I’m not sure just what this vessel is for and there was no description. It shows a variety of construction techniques all rolled together.

Gorgeous wings on an angel in a painting of The Annunciation.

Animal Jar

A pitcher with a bull head and beautiful black clay.

Eros and Psyche

An oil painting with Cupid (love) and Psyche (soul). I haven’t done much oil painting but this makes me want to try.

Fancy Handles

Such fancy handles. I would love to make something like this. I especially like the detail of the faces at the bottom ends of the handles.

A Greek wine vessel called a Kylex. I want to make a set of these for my home.

After seeing such beautiful things, I would have to be made of stone not to be inspired.
